(…meant to post this morning)
Everyone loves free food right? I mean, right now, I’m sitting at a booth at Raising Canes eating brunch because today they offer a free Box Combo to the first 100 customers that in the door. We love to get the things that we don’t have to work for. We don’t deserve many of the free gifts we’re given, but we accept them very readily.
Today Canes essentially said, “Hey customer, we appreciate you. We’re going to give you something that you want (but you’ll have to drive to your local Raising Canes at 9:30am to get it)” What we fail to realize is God says this to us every single day.
The great thing about God is, He is sufficient. We don’t need to be greedy because we know His grace is sufficient. Phillipians 4:19 says And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Jesus Christ. God’s riches are boundless, so when God is really a part of you, you’ll be SUPPLIED all that you NEED. There isn’t a need to go back and try and grab more because all that we need is given to us from the start.
Free food really is a gift, and we should say please and thank you in response to those nice enough to give so graciously. On a side note, I’m just glad Jesus didn’t ask us to say please before he was lifted up on the cross.
