A bit melodramatic, but still, it hits home with the hopeless romantic part of me.
If i could give an Oscar for an independent short film, this one would take the cake. I haven’t watched many videos on youtube lately, and wongfu’s videos don’t appeal as much as they used too. A few months ago, I stumbled upon a Jubilee Project video titled “The Prodigal”, a modern day take on the parable of the prodigal sons found in the Gospel of Luke. You can find that video here:
The video I shared, named “Mixtapes”, is made by the same producers and is one of the best shorts I’ve seen in a long time. Truly I tell you, there is a moral backbone to the story that punctures the heart of a young student/child/adult like myself. After I was done watching, I was left feeling motivated to do three things.
1. Pray to God thanking HIm for any and every opportunity I have to live is this great big world.
2. Thank my parents for their sacrificed and ask them to tell me more stories about their lives when they were younger (they were once young too).
3. Think of creative and personal ways to commemorate my time as an adolescent (other than facebook photo tags).
Watch it; you won’t regret it.
